4 foods that diabetics are advised to avoid

Eating in restaurants is one of the challenges facing diabetic nutrition, and it often negatively affects the effort exerted by the person in physical activity or controlling other meals.

Restaurant meals contain large amounts of fat, nutritional supplements,

sugar, and salt. Therefore, a good choice should be made from the menu on the restaurant, and avoid the following foods and drinks:

1- All sugary drinks: especially soda such as cola,

Pepsi, ships, and so on, because they contain at least 8 teaspoons of sugar per package. This would be a big ration if a single package was taken with a meal containing carbohydrates, protein, and fats.

2- French fries: rich in carbohydrates,

fats and salt, and are served as a side dish while the lowest portion contains more than 400 calories. Avoid this choice and eat in a restaurant, and make your choice for the side dish: a vegetable or fruit salad.

3- Sweet sauces (especially in Asian cuisine) are very rich in fats and sugars, as one tablespoon of the sauce (sauce) contains more than 150 calories. You can improve the taste with vinegar, or some salt and spices instead of sweet sauces.

4 – Bread and butter:

Some restaurants offer a basket of bread and butter as an appetizer before serving soup and main course. This bread sometimes contains butter and is served toasted without informing the customer of the amount of butter that was used. This bread should be avoided, and the soup should be satisfied with the main course.
